Hey guys. Seth here. I’m writing this from a very hot Starbucks. The Starbucks in my town was recently renovated, so I thought I’d chill out here this Sunday. But I don’t think they’re running the AC here, so it’s about 75 degrees and humid. I also just sipped my cold brew and spilled it onto my shirt. Man!

Life Updates

What a week! First, thanks to everyone for supporting me by visiting my new website. I left my job a couple of weeks ago, so I’ve been catching up on personal projects I never had time to devote to. This site was one of those projects. As part of the launch, I posted this silly video on Twitter:

Even if this website is a total flop, I can use it as a portfolio project to show I’m competent enough to start a web server and build a small website.

In other “professional” news, I was accepted to grad school, so I’ll likely be pursuing my Master’s degree in Computer Science starting this fall. I’m also eyeing full-time jobs, like teaching ESL in Korea or returning to customer/technical support. Meanwhile, I’m building out a personal marketing business at https://upbeat-web.com.

YouTube Channel Updates

In “content” news, I’ve been working on a few things:

I filmed a 15-minute DDR vlog, but the resulting footage was dry compared to previous episodes. I know I’m usually a harsher judge of my content than others, so I’ll see if I can combine the footage into a salvageable product.

Meanwhile, I’m trying to write the script for the next episode of The Depressed Arrow, but I’m experiencing a bit of writer’s block. I may have overreacted a bit:

I’m mainly struggling with balancing the “play negativity” or satire from the last episode with talking about things that I find interesting or exciting. I don’t want to commit to a weekly vent podcast because I love talking about DanceDanceRevolution. But I also want to differentiate myself from other DDR podcasts and make it entertaining rather than just reading information from the DDR Community website and Twitter.

Lastly, I’m sitting on a ton of unreleased content. I have about 30 videos of myself playing DDR Grand Prix from December and January that I never got around to uploading, as well as a wealth of deleted and scrapped videos, for example:

• DDR A3 Songs Tier List
• Vlogs I recorded in South Korea
• Super Mario 3D World Let’s Play
• ANOTHER Sonic Mania let’s play (for some reason)
• Music videos for songs I wrote in 2021-2022

I’m trying to decide whether to release those on YouTube, make them exclusives for this website (which nobody will probably check), or hold them out if I build my audience large enough to start a Patreon.

DanceDanceRevolution Updates

There are currently two limited-time events happening in DDR:

Golden League is running until next week, so go out and play on the 20th-anniversary cabinet if you want to unlock the new song, My Drama. Another Course Trial started this week, featuring the song melody H4CKER by Moe Shop. You can immediately unlock the song if you play the course once within the next few weeks. Otherwise, you’ll have to spend multiple credits (or one Galaxy Play credit) to unlock it later. It’s a great song, so I recommend going for it now.

That’s about all I have to say about this week. It’s a big transitionary period for me. If I can’t get a job or some dramatic misfortune befalls me, I’ll make some content out of it for you guys. Kind of a win-win, right? Thanks for reading!
